A three-axis digital readouts DROs is a type of measurement device that uses data from its own sensors to measure and control the position, orientation, or motion of an object. It monitors rotational as well as linear movement in what is known as planes (x, y & z). This information can be used for inspection or programming purposes. A three-axis DRO system consists of a base with electronics on it; this communicates wirelessly to one or more probes which contain at least two types: magnetic and probe displacement sensors. The use of these enables high-resolution measurements over long distances. It also has a display screen for viewing all collected data - including live readings and/or captured images depending on the application requirements.

 

 

Four-Axis:

A four-axis digital readouts DRO is a device that measures the angular position of a rotating shaft or other precisely moving component and displays it on an LCD screen. It has three rotary encoders (a single axis at one end, two axes in the middle) to measure rotation around each individual axis. The fourth sensor detects if the machine is a closed loop (the user can stop motion).
