A Transportation Turnstile is a type of mechanical barrier which allows passage through the gates only in one direction at a time. A turnstile consists of two facing wooden, metal, or plastic posts about three feet long connected by an L-shaped bar with sturdy lug guides to prevent rotation. It has four equally spaced flanges on its face for engaging corresponding slots built into each side wall (two per door) and opening doors when it rotates 90 degrees like turning a corner along the tracks between platforms. This makes it difficult to go back through without rejecting oneself again after just going outwards once passed over while preventing those already inside from exiting and avoiding allowing people who have not paid from entering surreptitiously using bulky clothing etc., and avoiding the very real danger of injury from being caught between them.

Optical Turnstiles are used for a variety of security purposes in airports, government buildings, stadiums, etc., The most familiar example is perhaps those found at access points to large public venues like sports stadia or concerts where they control crowds and typically have hundreds moving through per minute by means of wide multiple barriers that allow people to pass but not return after passing outwards once (usually without stopping as to speed up flow) while enforcing only one direction into the venue at a time using only their own weight rather than requiring external motive power which might be applied inappropriately if someone forced it open against its will with others who did not want it closed again having already passed through before any more are allowed to do so.

 

 

Arm Turnstiles:

Arm turnstiles are the most common type of automated entry solution. They work by allowing a person through after they have swiped an access control card on their way in and then raised their arm to allow it to scan for valid identification upon leaving. The technology works with both cards and RFID chips but is also compatible with facial recognition software as well.

An arm turnstile is a type of automated entry barrier system that consists of rotating arms and beams. In the entrance to certain areas, there are two long barriers that block people from moving further into an area. These barriers have rotating arms on them with sensors attached to detect whether or not someone is trying to get in either direction (in/out). If access is granted for passage through the barriers, they will rotate outwards allowing one person at a time through without any obstruction. However, if access has been denied then the arm remains stationary preventing anyone from entering until their credentials are cleared by staff members.

At a metro station, turnstiles are used to manage access in and out of the station through fare collection. The physical presence of people passing through the gates is required for validating commuters using tickets or smart cards at the turnstile reader. The turnstile system is usually managed by security personnel.

 

 

Airport:

Transportation turnstile is used at the airport to keep a record of the number of people entering and exiting an airport terminal. Transportation turnstiles are also known as access control systems with doors, automated gates, or revolving arms that allow entry for a particular person after validating their identity against information displayed on electronic screens. These types of transportation turnstiles can be integrated into existing security system using both software and hardware interface where cardholders (customer) inserts their RFID cards into reader slot attached to entrance arm then wait until it rotates forward before entering through them remotely from computer station located in Airport Operation Centers once authorized by Access Control System Administrator over a network connection with help of input command received via keyboard connected device such as touch screen monitor or keypad.
