Full-Voltage Reversing:

Full-Voltage Reversing starters are typically used for motors in enclosed spaces. They have a voltage rating below 600 volts and can be permanently wired into the circuit breaker system or switched on by an externally mounted switch to turn off power to the motor when tripped by an overload, short or ground fault. These types of starters tend not to be very efficient at switching high resistance loads like closed vents as they do not provide enough current with respect to voltage demand needed.

 

Multi-Speed Starter:

Multi-speed starters are designed specifically for use with variable frequency drives (VFD), which allows them to match different speeds without changing rpm while also reducing energy consumption. VFDs need a starter that is compatible with the unit's voltage, current, and frequency specifications in order to work properly.

 

Reduced Voltage:

Reduced Voltage starters are a type of starter that is used for motors with lower voltage and currents. This makes them more useful when the motor needs to operate at low power, like in an office environment where it's operating on less than 100% load. These types of starters need to be connected directly to the power source without any additional wiring or equipment because they do not have enough capacity to activate other switches.
