A dual-channel transmitter will have one gauge reading the level from the top of the liquid column, and another reading it from just below its surface.

Multi-channel four-wire dissolved oxygen transmitters are the most advanced type of DO sensor which can measure up to two channels. They have greater accuracy and precision than single-channel, dual-channel, and multi-channel ones. Multi-channel four-wire dissolved oxygen transmitters are used to monitor the levels of DO in water tanks, pools, and other similar areas. The transmitter sends a signal wirelessly through a cable or Ethernet line to the monitoring console for reading.
