The Global Livestock Animal Vaccines Market Size is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.6% during the forecast period and the market is expected to reach USD 7.6 billion by 2028. The growth of this market can be attributed to the increase in demand for poultry and swine vaccines due to the presence of various zoonotic diseases including influenza virus, Newcastle disease, avian flu, etc.

Livestock animal vaccines are used to prevent various diseases in animals, for example, pigs. The vaccine is composed of a virus that has been weakened or killed so it does not cause illness but can still make the body produce antibodies against the disease-causing agent. These agents provide immunity from the infection and some also contain adjuvants which enhance the immune response by increasing inflammation at injection sites and improve the efficacy of vaccines.

On the basis of Types, the market is segmented into Live Attenuated Vaccine, Inactivated Vaccine, and Other Vaccines. Live attenuated vaccine is the most commonly used type of livestock animal vaccine as it has a better effect on animals and causes fewer complications in humans.

Live Attenuated Vaccine:

Live attenuated vaccines are used to treat illnesses, such as rabies. Live Attenuated Vaccines can either be modified live or killed virus. One of the major factors in determining a vaccine's efficacy is its ability to replicate and establish immunity without causing illness. Live attenuated vaccine is the most commonly used type of livestock animal vaccine as it has a better effect on animals and causes fewer complications in humans.

Inactivated Vaccine:

Inactivated vaccines are used to prevent and control diseases by using inactivating or killing the organisms responsible for them. They can also be called killed, toxoid vaccines, procaine hydrochloride-injectable vaccine (PHT), formaldehyde-killed vaccine, or formalin-vaccine. An example of an inactivated vaccination is rabies; an organism that lives in animal bites will infect humans if they do not receive a shot soon after contact with it. Rabies causes brain infections leading to death without treatment so getting vaccinated shortly after being bitten is critical before symptoms start showing up.

On the basis of Application, the market is segmented into Pig, Cattle, Poultry, and Others.

Pig:

The use of Livestock Animal Vaccines in Pig is to prevent diseases. The vaccine can be used for protection, control, and eradication purposes depending on the disease. Diseases such as 'swine fever', paratyphoid, erysipelas (a bacterial infection) are prevented with livestock animal vaccines.

Cattle:

Livestock animal vaccines are utilized for the prevention of diseases like Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), Hanta Virus, Bluetongue, Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus, Avian Influenza. These vaccines are used to prevent disease outbreaks in cattle through immunization against infectious pathogens that cause these conditions. Global demand for Livestock Animal Vaccines is driven by the rising adoption of livestock animals as part of a sustainable food production system due to the rise in population growth rates globally.

Poultry:

The use of livestock animal vaccines in the poultry sector has a lot to do with the control and prevention of diseases prevalent in this industry. A vaccine is an attenuated form of a pathogen that causes it not to produce any harmful effects on its host, but still offers immunity against future exposure. When used properly, these products can offer protection from various pathogens such as Newcastle disease virus (NDV), avian influenza virus (AI), fowl poxvirus (FPX), etc., which are transmitted through airborne or direct contact between animals and humans. A reduction in vaccination coverage could lead to outbreaks among poultry due to the lack of herd immunity offered by vaccinations over time. Hence they need adequate doses for an effective immunization success rate to be achieved.

On the basis of Region, the market is segmented into North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East & Africa. Among these regions, North America is expected to lead in terms of revenue generation for all vaccine types during the forecast period (2021-2028) on account of its larger livestock population and export rates.

Growth Factors For The Global Livestock Animal Vaccines Market:

  • The growth can be attributed to increasing awareness about livestock animal diseases which will drive demand for vaccines as well as the continuous development of new livestock animal vaccine products.
  • Growing Livestock Population and Rising Demand for Animal Products To Drive The Market Growth
  • Increasing Import of Animals to Developing Countries is Driving the Expansion.
  • Increase in Domestic Production of Animal Protein and Rising Demand for Livestock Animals
  • Growth In The Poultry Industry to Boost the Market Demand.
