General Purpose Grade:

General Purpose Grade PVC homopolymer is a plastic resin that has been manufactured through polymerization. It belongs to the group of thermoplastics and it's commonly used in the production of goods such as pipes, hoses, wire coverings (insulating), cable jackets, etc.

This type of PVC homopolymer provides excellent resistance against heat and mechanical stress while maintaining good flexibility at low temperatures. General-purpose grade PVC pipe can be produced by extrusion or compression molding process; common uses are for floor tile backing boards, door casing strips, speaker grilles, etc.

 

Medical Grade:

Medical Grade PVC is a type of Polyvinyl Chloride that has been developed specifically for medical applications. It can be found in things like catheters, IV bags, and tubing. The most important distinction between General Purpose PVC and Medical Grade is the lack of plasticizers or stabilizers, which are used to make general-purpose vinyl stronger than it would otherwise be. This results in increased flexibility at low temperatures and it also reduces stickiness during production because these additives are not present either.

Wire and Cable:

The PVC homopolymer is used in wire and cable because of its flexibility, low-costs and resistance to chemicals. It also has a high dielectric strength which makes it ideal for use as insulation on electrical wires and cables. Another reason why the PVC Homopolymer is preferred over other plastics like polypropylene or polyethylene is because of their lower heat distortion temperature (190°C) compared to that of PVC's 220°C. These materials resist higher temperatures making them perfect for outdoor wiring applications. In addition, they are not susceptible to oil contamination which would render the product useless after prolonged exposure.

 

Automobile:

The use of PVC in automobiles is increasing significantly as it has replaced traditional materials such as steel and aluminum. Automobile manufacturers are using plastics due to their lightweight, cheap price, and improved fuel efficiency with the advent of new technologies like hybrid cars. The material composition for these vehicles consists mostly of polymers including thermoplastics like nylon or acrylics, thermoset plastic components made from epoxies or phenolics (iPVC), and glass fiber reinforced composites (GRC). Thermoplastics offer higher stiffness at a lower cost while GRC offers better strength but requires a higher temperature curing process.

 

Medical:

The PVC Homopolymer use in the medical industry is very important. The Medical grade of PVC homopolymers which are used to make products such as IV bags and tubes can be sterilized before they are put into production. This ensures that there will not be any contamination because it has been made from non-toxic material. These types of materials also allow easier access to clean water without having the risk associated with harmful bacteria or viruses present due to unsterilized surfaces.

 

Pipeline:

PVC Homopolymer has high chemical resistance, abrasion, and impact-resistant properties. It is used in the following pipeline applications: Oil pipelines, Water pipelines, Industrial gas pipelines, Other fluid transmission lines.

 

Coating:

Chemical resistance, protection from ultraviolet light, and its high gloss surface are the main reasons for PVC homopolymer to be used in the coating. The material has great solvent and weathering properties which makes it a good choice for exterior paints or primers.

 

Floor Materials:

The use of PVC homopolymer in floor materials is mainly for indoor applications where aesthetics are not a priority and the design can be flexible. These include floors, carpeting, tiles, vinyl sheets, and other similar products that offer limited durability outdoors but provide quality indoors. The material has been used to cover large areas such as warehouses or aircraft hangars since its waterproof properties make it ideal for these types of environments.
