Globally, there are many surgical procedures. According to the Texas Heart Institute, more than 500,000 coronary bypass procedures occur each year. Low body temperatures can be caused by anesthesia being administered to patients prior to any surgery. To avoid further hypothermia, warming systems should be used in these situations. These systems can be used to minimize discomfort and pre- and/or post-surgical complications.

The rising incidence of cancer and cardiovascular disease has led to a high demand for cooling and heating devices. A drop in body temperature can lead to the multiplication of cancer cells. To counter this problem, patient warming systems are combined with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The increasing number of strokes and heart attacks is another important growth driver. To increase survival rates and allow normal brain function, the body must be kept relatively cool during such situations. New temperature management systems such as head caps, blankets, and surface pads are expected to increase the demand.

Due to their widespread use during general anesthesia surgeries, patient warming systems dominated the market in 2018. The patient's body temperature is lower when general anesthesia is administered before surgery. End-Use Information
