Inorganic Chelated Selenium is an organic compound of metal and sulfur. The most common example is selenite, which consists of one molecule of inorganic selenium bound to two molecules of acid hydrogen sulfide (H-S). It can be synthesized by the reaction between sodium hydride (NaH) and elemental selenium. Inorganic Chelated Selenium is used as a pest control agent in animal feed, metalworking fluid, flame retardant, and mainly for health supplements.
Inorganic chelated selenium may be at higher risk than organic since it consists of one molecule of inorganic selenium bound to two molecules of sulfuric acid (H-S). However, the most common example is that it can be synthesized by a reaction between sodium hydride (NaH) and elemental selenium. It's also found in animal feeds as well as other applications.
