2- Ethylhexyl Nitrate (EHN):

EHN is a chemical additive used to improve the cetane number of diesel fuel. It can be produced by reacting olefins with nitric acid under conditions that prevent polymerization, or it can be made from dimerized linear alkenes such as ethylene and propylene via an electrochemical process. EHN improves the combustion quality of diesel engines because they contain higher amounts of alkanes than other petroleum products -and increase in which benefits combustion- but also reduces emissions due to its lack of sulfur content. Propylene based EHN is less expensive than petroleum-based products due to their lower price of production

 

Di- Tertiary Butyl Peroxide (DTBP):

DTBP is a chemical additive used to improve the cetane number of diesel fuel. DTBP can be made by reacting diolefins with peroxide, or it can be produced in an electrochemical process from monomers such as butadiene and styrene via anionic polymerization
