Calcium Hypophospate is an ingredient for many drugs such as ampicillin, erythromycin, oxytetracycline (OTC), penicillamine, and quinidine. Pharmaceutical-grade calcium hypophosphite replaces the commercial-grade product when a higher purity level is needed for pharmaceutical manufacturing processes because it has lower levels of impurities like sodium chloride that may contribute to drug toxicity or incompatibility with living cells. FDA regulations require the use of either pharmaceutical grade or industrial grade products depending on the process type being performed. Industrial Grade Calcium Hypophosphite:
Industrial grade calcium hypophosphite has many uses including as a component of electroplating baths, explosives for mining or quarrying, and the production of phosphate fertilizers.
