Sodium Methylate Biodiesel Catalyst can be defined as a catalyst that is used to convert vegetable oil, animal fat, and recycled greases into biodiesel by transesterification reaction. Sodium Methylate Biodiesel Catalyst plays a crucial role in the process of ester interchange between alcohol (methanol) and triglycerides from various sources such as soybean oils, sunflower oil, or even waste cooking fats, etc.

In addition to this, it also helps in removing water content from bio-fats which reduces harmful impurities during the production of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME). It can be further classified into three types: hydroxide type sodium methoxide, methanol type sodium methoxide & solid base type sodium methoxide.

Biodiesel from Bio-fat is a type of biodiesel obtained by transesterification of bio-waste cooking oil with methanol. This process converts free fatty acids into methyl esters (biodiesel), which can be used as diesel fuel, either alone or blended in any proportions with petrodiesel for heating and power applications.
