A Single Girder Crane also called Walkway type and Platform type is a heavy-duty crane with one overhead beam. It can only carry loads on the aft side of the platform in order to balance its weight, hence it cannot be used for lifting at heights higher than 40 meters above ground level. Single girder cranes are typically mounted onto loaders which makes them ideal for use in confined spaces such as ports or mines because they do not have any obstructions that could prevent their operation.
Double Girder Bridge Cranes:
Double Girder Bridge Cranes are also called the Box type and with their shape resemble a box. These cranes differ from Single Girder Crane because they have two beams that form an A-frame which allows them to carry loads on both sides of the platform, thus eliminating its requirement for balancing weight. Double girder bridge cranes can be used at heights higher than 40 meters above ground level.
Gantry Cranes:
Gantry cranes are the most common form of mobile cranes. These types of cranes consist chiefly of a horizontal beam that supports and forms an A-frame from which a lifting platform is suspended on cables or wires, allowing them to move horizontally as well as vertically just like the box type.
Monorails:
Monorail systems use single rails for supporting construction equipment such as HSC Cranes that travel along it using wheels mounted at each end. Unlike gantry cranes, monorails can also be used in confined spaces due to their small size which makes it possible for operators to reach any point within its span without obstruction while travelling between two points where work needs to take place. The Monorail system differs from normal railroads since they are specifically designed to carry the load. This system is a type of overhead crane that can be used in confined spaces and offers an alternative to the gantry cranes found in shipyards, airports and mines. Monorails offer high-speed operation with fewer moving parts than other types of HSC Cranes due to its simple design consisting mostly of wheels running on rails (for small loads) or three-point support legs for construction equipment such as tower cranes, which are mounted at each end of the rail carriages.
