The bottom carrier plate connects with the motor drive system, which pushes it forward once activated. The motor drive FOUP load port is the most widely used type of FOUP load port as it requires lower cost and less maintenance.
Air-Driven Load Ports:
The air-driven load port is basically an air cylinder that uses pneumatic pressure to open or close the gate. Hence, it requires compressed atmospheric gas like nitrogen and other gases like hydrogen (when using high temperature). Air-driven load ports are used to reduce electrical noise, which is the main problem with motorized ones. They have a lower power consumption compared to their electric counterparts.
