External:

The external type of effluent pumps is the most commonly used and extensively deployed in residential sewage treatment plants as well as industrial water discharge applications, electric generation plants, and municipal wastewater facilities. In a residential sewage treatment plant or another facility where space limitations are not a concern, the external pump design can be deployed to handle high flow rates with sufficient head for lifting from deep wells or channels. Their versatile configurations provide both efficient pumping capabilities as well as their compact size makes them ideal for applications such as backup equipment when larger units fail to operate properly or when more than one unit is required at various locations within a storage basin that cannot accommodate an internal model installation.

 

 

Internal:

Internal type of submersible effluent pumps is used to effectively pump the water out from a tank. It has an inlet pipe, which sucks up the liquid and then flows through a submerged nozzle that creates high pressure for sucking more liquid into it. The outlet pipe should close when there is no need for use as this will avoid backflow or excessive suction. In order to make sure that all fluids are removed from tanks, pipes made with rubber can be fitted inside end caps at both ends near their edges. This provides greater protection against chemicals like acids while ensuring proper drainage even if oil enters the system during operation due to wear and tear on pipelines.

 

 

Half-Interna:

Half-interna type of submersible effluent pumps is the intermediate design between external and internal. It’s installed in a tank, which can be applied for industrial usage with high viscosity liquid or sludge. The pump provides great discharge pressure among other benefits such as less noise, lower maintenance cost, etc. It has a single pump to discharge both raw sewage and wastewater into the municipal sewer system. They are typically used in residential homes with limited water supply or for pumping out stormwater from cesspools, septic tanks, drain field lines, etc.
