Synthetic quartz photomasks use a specially designed, high-quality synthetic quartz substrate that is durable and stable. The process of manufacturing this product uses chemical vapor deposition (CVD) to grow extremely thin layers on the surface of the glass wafer in an exact pattern without affecting its alignment or flatness. These masks are produced using one large sheet of pure silicon dioxide material called fused silica which has optical properties superior to ordinary glass substrates used for making standard photomask blanks based on borosilicate glasses such as Pyrex, Schott Glass XG3300, etc.



Ordinary Quartz Photomask:

An ordinary quartz photomask is a type of quartz photomask that uses conventional lithography techniques. Ordinary Quartz Photomasks are used where smaller line widths and pitches, as well as larger sizes, can be achieved through the use of this masking technique. Ordinary Quartz Photomask is the most widely used photolithography mask. The process of ordinary quartz photomasks requires deposition layers in between multiple substrates to create custom patterns with desired lines widths, spaces, and grooves. Substrates include glass, fused silica (FS), low-expansion ceramic (LEC), or polymer materials like epoxy resins for organic light-emitting diode displays (OLED) applications.

Quartz is a network of silica tetrahedrons that form in nature and can be used to create circuit boards. Quartz products are used in the circuit board as they have high dielectric strength. Quartz is also useful because of its resistance to thermal shock and its excellent resonance characteristics.
