This ensures safety while handling the product. The Below 20,000 Kgs type of pipelayers is best for laying pipelines in soil that contains rocks or stones for sanitary and stormwater applications. It can largely be used to lay cast iron pipes within the diameter range of 275mm-1600mm. They are also suitable for small culverts with a capacity below 600 gallons per minute (GPM) as well as drainage systems. The smaller diameters reduce obstruction problems by minimizing installation time and cost because they allow one-man installations which reduce labor costs among other benefits such as reduced damage during transportation due to lower weight capacity.

 

 

20,000 To 50,000 Kgs:

Pipelayers that fall in the 20,000 to 50,000 Kgs range are also referred to as heavy-duty pipe layers. They include both crawler and truck-mounted cranes which can be used for the construction of large diameter pipelines across long distances. Heavy-duty machines like roadheaders and tunneling equipment such as breakerless drills (BLD), jumbos or big bore breakers, etc., would also come under this category. Some key benefits include offering low maintenance costs due to their easy installation and repair process which is possible without shutting the pipeline down completely. The other feature includes reduced downtime during emergency situations which can result in increased productivity.

 

 

Above 50,000 Kgs:

Above 50,000 Kgs types of pipelayers are Permanently Laid Pipe Layer (PIP) and Floating Pipeline Layers. There are three types of pipelayers that fall in the Above 50,000 Kgs category: Flexible pavement layer, Dual Durometer, Slurry shield machine. Above 50,000 Kgs types of pipelayers are ideal for construction projects that involve large diameter pipes. They can lay down more than 400 meters of pipelines in a single day and require only two people to operate the machine on the ground. The biggest advantage is their ability to bear heavy loads over long distances with ease.
