Calcined High Purity Limestone is a type of limestone that has been heated to produce quicklime. The heat treatment removes impurities and alters the crystalline structure, making it more reactive chemically than fresh limestone particles. Calcined High Purity Limestone is used as a flux in slag and smelting operations. It also has agricultural uses, such as the treatment of alkaline soils or fertilizers for acidic soil conditions.

In addition to these applications, calcined high purity limestone provides benefits in construction because of its use on absorbent surfaces like concrete footings that require drainage pits below them (where water collects).

 

Crushed High Purity Limestone:

The crushed high purity limestone is the product of crushing calcined and non-calcined limestones. Crushed high purity limestone has a particle size from 0 to 20mm in diameter. The crushed product can be applied directly to fields, gardens, lawns, flower beds, and other surfaces where its natural pH-buffering capabilities make it an effective neutralizing agent.

 

Ground High Purity Limestone:

Ground high purity quarried limestone is a type of crushed stone that has been processed to remove the particles and/or pebbles. It can be used for many applications, such as construction or landscaping. When ground high purity quarried limestone is pulverized into smaller particles, it becomes an excellent additive in agricultural soils to improve water penetration and drainage.

Construction:

A major application is in the construction industry for use in roads and pavements which are exposed to heavy traffic or a high volume of trampling by pedestrians. It can also be used as a filler material to provide thermal insulation between layers of other building materials such as plasterboard when installing new floors.

 

Metallurgical:

It has two main applications - one where it’s crushed into gravel size particles that may then be burned at the base of furnaces to remove impurities from slag; secondly, it plays a vital role in steel production due to its ability to react with atmospheric oxygen during melting. This reaction eliminates dross formation on molten steel and also prevents oxidization of the steel during storage. It’s often used as a thermal insulator on top of molten metal to prevent contact with oxygen in order to avoid oxidation, so it's mainly used inside blast furnaces.

 

Paper & Pulp:

High purity limestone is used in paper and pulp because it contains calcium carbonate which reacts with the chemicals to remove the color from the fiber. It also controls pH levels, increases the brightness of the cellulose fibers, prevents acidity or alkalinity, and removes acidic salts.

 

Chemical:

It’s used as a component for making Portland cement which provides strength to concrete while reducing its weight and increasing workability; it's also used in many alkali production processes such as soda ash manufacture wherein limestone acts as an important source of calcium carbonate(CaCO).

 

Water & Wastewater:

High purity limestone is used as a component for water treatment and sewage plants. It removes heavy metals from the body of water that has been polluted by industry or natural disasters, such as earthquakes. In addition to removing impurities, it also increases pH levels in water sources that are too acidic due to contacts with chemicals like arsenic or sulfuric acid. High Purity Limestone is also used in medical applications because calcium hydroxide can be generated through this process, which helps prevent kidney stones.
