Embedded DisplayPorts are found predominantly in Intel-based computers because they require hardware support for them to function properly.

At present embedded display, port occupies a large share in the global displays ports market for commercial application as compared to wireless display port due to its compatibility with the multimedia interface (HDMI) which has been adopted by many industry players such as Lenovo Asus Dell Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd LG Electronics Inc, etc. The launch of Intel's new Core I platforms along with Microsoft Windows will drive this type of device adoption at a very high pace during the forecast period from 2021-2028. 

 

Wireless DisplayPort:

Wireless display, or wireless HDMI, is the transmission of multimedia data to a TV wirelessly. This technology eliminates the need for cables and wires in order to connect your laptop or mobile device with an HDTV screen. You can use Bluetooth-equipped devices that are compatible with this feature as well.

The connected devices will transmit audio and video signals over distances up to 30 meters without any delays on the refresh rate. In other words, when you watch videos through Wireless DisplayPort connectivity, it will be broadcasted just like watching them from a cable television (HDMI) connection but without all the messiness of wires.

 

Internal DisplayPort:

Internal DisplayPort is a type of digital video interface that can be found on laptops and some desktop computers. It's also used in high-end monitors, TVs, and other displays with an active connection to the computer.

 

Micro DisplayPort:

Microdisplayport (MyDP) is a port from Apple Inc., designed for connecting video output devices such as HDTVs, digital TVs, monitors, and projectors onto Macintoshes using MiniDisplayPort adapters/connecting cables that convert MicroDp into DVI signal format. Micro DisplayPort was introduced to make it compatible with Mini-Display Ports that are seen on laptops today hence making them slimmer in design without compromising performance or bandwidth. The MDP specification submitted by Intel in 2009 but withdrawn in 2011 because the company lacked industry support has been reintroduced back for use with new.

 

On the basis of Application, the market is segmented into Domestic and Commercial. The domestic segment accounted for the largest market share of about 62% in 2017. The domestic segment was followed by commercial and other segments which accounted for 17% and 16%, respectively. The domestic segment is further categorized into the computer, laptop, tablet, and mobile phone applications while the commercial space includes monitors, TV displays as well as projectors.

 

0n the basis of Region, the market is segmented into North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Middle East & Africa. North America is the largest region in terms of the number of DisplayPort adopters followed by Europe which will continue to dominate until 2028 due to its high adoption rate.
