Modifies Starch:

Modified starch makes the textiles more durable and less sensitive to temperature. It can also be used in cooking, as a fat substitute, or for thickening sauces. The most common modified starches are pregelatinized flour, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), gum arabic, and dextrin. Modifies Starch is used in industrial applications such as beer, chocolate, and ice cream.



Sweeteners are food additives that provide a sweet taste to foods. They can be either nutritive (such as sugars) or non-nutritive (e.g., saccharin). In the United States, six artificial sweeteners have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in food: saccharin, sucralose, aspartame, stevia glycosides erythritol, and neotame. Cyclamate was banned from sale in 1969 due to evidence of its carcinogenic effects on laboratory rats.
